I built a rod back in Febuary of this year. It was a Cabela's Blank SL1008. I fished it hard two or three times a week, all spring summer, and fall. While it was an 8 wt. I used a 9wt line. I caught a lot of fish up to about 32 inches, including one day I

took 12 F/A's. Ihave pictures taken with it bent in a C, fighting a fish. Well I believe the first Monday of November, the day I met Adam,Steve, and Jared at Quonochataug, I broke it slinging a popper. It didn't break on a fish, it was just that I was pu

lling the leader through the tiptop to change to a fly when about a foot fell off the rod.It had to be a day when I didn't have a spare. I sent the rod back to Cabela's, I got the replacement blank back today with all the makings to make up a new one. Ree

lseat, guides, handle, and even the flexcoat. I also got a check in the mail, for what the shipping cost was. I was surprised. I see in their Christmas catalog that they have the completed rod for $130 with a 25 year warranty.I just thought some of the gu

ys who are asking about rods, would like to know. Good Company.
