11/24 - Backing material

My Tioga reel is a little cramped so I'm going to put on some new backing this winter. I'd also like to go to 30#. Have about 220 yds of 20# dacron now. Is micron backing any thinner ? Is gel spun a viable alternative. Also considering going down to 150 y

ds of backing. I don't fish for blue water line burners. Lefty Kreh would have you believe you'll never go into that much backing anyway.
Besides, it's a good way to insure I'll hook up a monster albie next year !
Thanks - Mark
