I took a swim off the jetty at Weekapaug in mid October. I found myself sliding down the rocks and had to make a split-second decision as to whether it would be better to jump in and get wet or try to stay dry by falling on the rocks. I opted to swim.
Fortunately it was low slack tide and I wasn't wearing waders, so there wasn't much risk of drowning (only embarrasment), but there was a great risk of getting cut up and bruised (or worse!) on the rocks. If you had the inflatable suspenders or some othe
r flotation device, you would have a lot less to think about during that half second when you know you're going down.
