The 10wt. that is referred to with the "peg" ferrule is no longer manufactured. The new Backwater 10wts. have the tip over butt ferrule design, which is much more durable in the larger wts. than the peg ferrule system. So are you sure that the rod you were thinking of was that rod? Unless you're buying it used, probably not. I had a 10wt. with the old ferrule, cracked it after the first year of use, and Diamondback replaced it quickly with no hassle whatsoever. As far as performance goes, its no RPLXi, but its also half the price.....
