i'd agree w/ greg that jeff cardenas' Saltwater Angler may be your easiest bet
down in Key West. he has a great stable of guides and his people could always
direct you to another guide. you s/ check out his smaller shop that's not
directly on the harbor (harborside shop is a full on Orvis shop - the smaller
Saltwater Angler shop is a lot more fly friendly). # is 800-223-1629.

last time i was there was feb. the weather was always on the verge of changing
and even though we saw a lot of fish (big 'cuda and big permit as well
as shark) the weather seemed to turn the fish off. i still learned a lot w/
the guide we hired (tom pierce) but my fishing partner and i were thrown off a
bit w/ the price ($375 min.). there's a bit of wading to be done in the middle
keys if you can spend a day there. i might have some info on that if you'd
like...
