I plan to buy a new fish finder to replace the current unit on my 18 ft
center console. The signal on the current unit is breaking up and not worth
trying to fix. I had planned to go to a couple Boats Shows and/or Outdoor Shows
to talk to some Manufacturer Reps but an unexpected broken foot is going to
prevent me from going anywhere. Can anyone offer recommendations and
suggestions on preferred types/Manufacturers or features to look for when
selecting a unit. I had considered purchasing a combination depth sounder/GPS
unit but since the Loran signal will probably be around for a few more years
I have decided against the extra cost. I don't know if it makes any difference
but I use the boat solely in salt water and primarily fish
Buzzards Bay/Westport, MA area. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
