Thanks for all the tips. I too am having the same dilema.

I found a basic, cordura covered, 2 piece - 2 rod carrier in Cabela's. The cost is about $30 and is what I am going to bring on the plane for my trip in March. I will use all of Larry's tactics! It has worked before.

I am also in the market for a 3 piece 8 weight along with a multi piece spinning rod. Ted Moore at Bob Smith's in Boston showed me a sweet 3 piece St. Croix spinning rod (ouch at $140.00,) that I am thinking about.

My plan is for me to carry the double tube with the (2 piece) fly rods and have my wife carry the two travel rods.
