Can anyone recommend a conventional surf rod for a Newell 235-5 reel? I'm new to conventional gear. I want something more heavy duty than my 17-lb. test spinning tackle. Something that can handle tossing a herring or a big Danny plug. I like the lightweight of graphite if it is tough enough.
