Hmm. I've never had a problem on Continetal or Delta and I use Delta
quite a bit on fishing trips to FL. I never bring a 2 pc. fly rod and
instead of using Larry B's "I am not worthy" angle, I usually use the
"to ask permission is to seek denial" tact. Be nice, but assume someone
else already said that it's ok to bring this aboard - but at the same time
do my best to hide it behind a coat/other bag/etc. The "I am not worthy"
grovelling is soemthing I keep in my back pocket just in case - and I have
needed it once or twice. It's good to keep this pitch handy and sharp.

Usually, even a 2 pc. will fit in the overhead compartments, but I have
flown on older 727's and various turboprop's that would barely fit a 3 pc.
overhead.

Bon Voyage! Send us a report!
