Art and others -
Has consideration been given to whether an e-mail bombardment campaign can be accomplished before the meeting? Many of us can't make it to the meeting, and would wish those of you that can speak for us -
I fish in MA.I and others who have been made aware of this are as concerned as I about the potential for this to effect all our recreational sport, and quite possibly to set a precedent for other states to legislate the same actions. MA already allows 750K lbs. of commercial catch - Our 28" limit is still too small and should be moved back to the mid-30's.
For those of you who might want to give the Governor's e-mail a little tweak, go to rigov@gov.state.ri.us
Governor Almond's web address is http://www.governor.state.ri.us
Phone 401-861-5894
BTW, any of the above listed information is on the web at http://www.state.ri.us
It's all a matter of public record. Last thought - how much truth is there to the idea that 50 - 100 letters constitutes a mandate from the constituents of RI?
I can't make the meeting. I hope those of you that do will speak out for those of us who are just as concerned, yet challenged by the time/distance thing.
Thank you. DF
