He quoted me a ballpark figure, telling me that he could save me some money on accessories, but the the base price was not very negotiable. I went the next day to Gauch Brothers in Shrewsbury. I saw the boat I wanted, he suggested I make him an offer. I offered 20% less than Nauset wanted. He checked with his manager and accepted the offer the next day. They also were very helpful. The Nauset salesman called me back the next week. He was upset when I told him the story. It seems I should have known when he was lying about not negotating. I thought this was a little arrogant.....
