As I recall, a 'tin clad' referred to any of the old time Hopkins type lures which were typically cast from 'block tin'.

Later because of the cost of tin, these lures were cast from lead and chrome plated.

An old friend from Worcester used to fish homemade jigs in the Canal. He would cast them from block tin because of its iridescence and since it was lighter than lead (less dense) he could get a different action.

A banana jig is a style of jig like : Upperman, ball, hot lips, etc.
