I'm biting the big one here - and my job is to plan the honeymoon.
So the obvious question is, where can I go to get some quality
fishing in? If you mail me direct (pphilbin@east.sun.com), I'll
keep the data confidential. Here are the details and what we
are looking for:
- Wedding is in early August '99
- Want honeymoon in Caribbean or Central America
- Avoid Mexico and Jamaica and places with similar rep's (her idea)
- Need nice beaches (ie. FL Keys are probably out)
- Would prefer to stay in a house/cabin/bungalo/hut/whatever over a hotel
- Looking for a less developed place that's not a 3 hour puddle-jumper flight away
Now the critical part...
I'm primarily looking for inshore/nearshore opportunities for
flyfishing. I'd prefer a place that, in addition to guides, I
could go off on my own in the early AM (or whenever) and not get
harrassed. I've heard St. Lucia was awesome, I also heard some
people like Nevis Island, but I've not heard much about it. I'm
also tossing around the idea of renting a sailboat for a week.
I'd love to hear your thoughts - especially about the fishing
in these locales.
