Made the night trip down to Narragansett Bay on Sat. night. Launched at East Greenwich, water temp. only 46. Should have known right then to go home and stay warm, but a nice clear night. Fished Davisville,to Jamestown Bridge on West side and Newport Bridge area out to Beavertail on East side. Boy was it cold out there at 3 AM. Lots of bait showing near the bottom in the warm water(52) near Newport but not so much as a hit all night. Was waiting for the morning action to start at dawn but even though the birds made some showing, they were small nad I only had heavy gear for that late season lunker. Fowl hooked a small Mackeral and that was it. Maybe by spring I will be warm enough to fish again.
