I have been watching, dabbling and otherwise meddling in various discussion topics for a while, but I am finally formally getting into the mix. I have been fishing for as long as I can remember. Most of my experience has been in fresh water tossing lures with heavy bait casting tackle, although I am also an avid fly fisherman. Up until now, I have chased mostly bass, largemouth and smallies wherever I can find them and I am exclusively a catch and release fisherman.

I have not had much experience in the salt water besides bottom fishing worms and clams for flounder and pollock. Sometime mid summer my father took me on his friends boat and we chummed for stripers...and I fell in love. I caught a few nice ones, no keepers, but it was enough to hook me. Naturally I wanted to catch one on the fly, and here I am.

As of today I have not caught one on my fly rod, but I am hoping to change all that after a long winter tying flys and reading Lou Tabory's book by the heat of the radiator.
