In regards to snapping of lures on fireline. I have been using 20 lb. for some time without seeing this problem. I am not using heavy lures however mostly under 1 1/2 oz. but some 2 oz. Mostly on a 8 1/2 ft. medium action rod. I use a palomar from the fire line to a swivel to a 40 lb. shock leader. I also retie whenever the line starts to show signs of wear. I have tried some of the other lines like spider wire and ripcord and so far I like the fireline best.
