Gibbs Polaris - Canal Lost & Found

Decided to go down to the Canal to test some Gibbs poppers to see which floated and which were the sinkers. Here are my findings -based on the drop it in the water while attached to my line test:

Polaris 3 1/2 oz. Floats - It floats vertically with just the head out of water.

Pencil Popper 2 3/4 oz. Floats - about like the Polaris

Canal Special PP 3 1/2 oz (??) - it sinks

Now to the cast and retrieve tests:

Polaris - No matter what I did it floated - it was hard to work because the cuurent was running too fast.

PP- It was easier to work in the current

Canal Special - Had to work a bit harder to keep it on the surface.

BY the way if anyone was down at the Canal fishing recently and lost their jacket. Its on the mainland side between pole 165 and 170. There a jar of red pork rind in a pocket, in case your not sure if it's yours.

Didn't fish much and didn't have a touch on the big stuff. I met the 'Flyfishing Mailman of Bourne" John Kollett. He was catching schoolies on a fly rod.

There were schoolies popping occasionally along the bank.
