The great one, peter, uses a 2/0 circle hook, white deer hair , gold flashabou, more white then a fine trace of black or brown topping..nicely tapered to a head.epoxy add eyes, good sized eyes...I had good luck with regular 1/0 or 2/0 stainless fly hooks with white fish hair, pearl flashabou, then chartruse topping.tied in some pink 15 lb mono wrapped the tag end of the flashabou forward, tie down , overwrap with the mono to form a tapered head..epoxy, then paint on eyes ..easy fast and durable..oh yeah, start both patterns very close to the bend in the hook.work forward carefully building a nice bullet shape on first fly mine is thinner in profile.. sometimes I add black topping.and also yellow instead of white just for variety..tight lines, mike
