As much as I would love native salters, those marginal streams shouldn't go to waste. Bring on those big browns!

As for the sea run program in Ma. the number of returning fish in the Coonemesit was impressive. I would count half

a dozen 2 foot trout in the pool below the culvert. The real problem was their extreme difficulty as regards to fishermen

sucsess rates. These stories I keep seeing about catching lots of searuns makes me wonder if we're talking about the same

fish. These fish were hard to catch! Being able to see them just made it that much more frustrating. When it comes to

using taxpayers money to manage a fishery, the put and take guys with big freezers have all the clout. We should they pay

for fish they can't catch. It was lack of public support that killed the searun program on the Cape. Now, if only there was

a reeltimer with ties to the fisheries dept.....
