Hmmm. What's the deal with the herring lifecycle? I thought that the adults dropped back after spawning and were gone months ago.
OTOH, I stopped by the canal herring run in the middle of the night the other night and there were lots of small fish splashing around. I couldn't tell if they were shad, herring or micro-stripers.
