Small fishing are jumping all over where I keep my boat in the Westport River. They're about 14" long and are not bass. Haven't gotten a good enough look to describe them better. They won't take a small Kastmaster or bucktail. They will hit little silver jigs, but won't swallow 'em. Are these hickory shad? I hear there are shad in the river now. How do you catch them. If you do catch them, are how are they for eating?? Do they work as bait for bigger fish? Thanks for any education you can give me.
