11/06 Tautog on the fly.....Is it worth the effort?

I recently saw some guys pulling out 3-5lb tautog by drifting green crabs with a 1/2 oz sinker. Same thing should be able to be duplicated with a weighted crab pattern and a sinking line. (I hope) Anybody have any succes at this?
