Rocks are your main concern if you like to get up close to the structure. Depending on the stage of tide there are rocks all around Hangman's, but if you know where they are you can get tight to the island. There is a day marker to the west and rocks extend from the island to this marker. There are also rocks out in the midle of nowhere which unless you look at that chart in the comfort of your livingroom, you will not see on the run, i.e., look for Wreck Rock between Nut and Hangman's and another set of rocks (name escapes me)between Hangman's and Moon. There are old pilings on the southerly side of Moon and rocks tight to the wall in front of the Fire Station.
