9/2 Gotta love those circle hooks

Got bored flyfishing for schoolies in Mememsha over my vacation so I thought dig out the live eels and see if I could find the big fish... Having just read Larry B.'s atricle in "On the Water" about circle hooks, I ran right out a got some. I have got to tell you I have never had such fun... The first night I got two fish right about 36" and several smaller ones (after narrowly avoiding a collision with another boat that was trolling without lights!). The second night I got one 36" and two right at 43" and lost a BIG one. I used to worry about using bait when I knew I would be releasing the majority of the fish, but those circle hooks got them all right in the corner of the mouth- and I only missed hooking up on one or two strikes. I'm sold- bring on the derby!
