Greetings all,
I thought i would check in with a albie-bone update just for grins and giggles.
I have now followed them in two different locations with the same results. Spot #1. Niantic
Bay (Jordan Cove) there seems to be alot of fish in this location and definitely alot of bait
but it seems impossible to hook any of them. I had one take on Sun. but no real hookup.
Spot #2. New Haven harbor- Another place where there is tons of bait and lots of fish but still unable to
hookup with the tuna like subjects I am encountering. They are either bones or albies or
spanish mackerel or a combination of the three. I think that the problem is that these fish are not
really schooled up but lots of fish roaming alone and feeding by themselves. At both
locations I have seen very large fast movers come clean out of the water and they are in the
10-14 pound bracket easy. On a more positive note New Haven harbor is also loaded
with Bluefish of varying sizes that are more than eager to take a fly offering so they keep
me busy while I cast for the aforementioned frustrating tuna's. I am going to keep
casting away and sooner or later lightning has to strike. I am planning a Point Judith run this
weekend has anybody had any reports around the west wall or PJ area?

Tightlines to all .............................Striper
