I think rinsing them off is the smart way to go. Re: the BG series..I am mainly a very to ultra lite spin fisher. MHO....BG series are a tough take almost anything reel, but they tend to suffer from line twist and a not a very smooth drag. The SS series is much smoother, little to no line twist problem, but a bit more fragile. I have and use both everyday, I like the SS series better. As i said in a previous post, the SS has required bail replacement...BG just a lot of lube and drag maint. no parts.
