I have been using a Daiwa reel for several reels for fresh and then saltwater. Several springs wore out and while it could be repaired I needed a replacement right away. I cheched their web page and found several reels listed as LW saltwater reels. Check at the local Sports Authority and saw they had one of the several I thought fit my needs. The Emblem-X 3000iA. Cost was much higher than any other spinning reel that I had ever purchased (maybe even 3X more). But what the heck it was payday. So far the reel has performed flawlessly. Of course the biggest striper I've caught on it has only been in the mid 20's.
