Re: 9/3 Hooter ?

Was at the Hooter Sunday A.M. - seemed like the storm blew up tons of weed - trolling wire was more work than it was worth - caught two large (40") bass at Wasque rip and went home. Anyway, I would like an opinion as to how to work the "Hooter". I'm not sure I am fishing the best spots - what is the deal - is it best to troll the obvious large shelf (i.e. water depth goes from 30sh to 100+ feet). I have traditionally started at the RW buoy, 6mi south of Wasque, and worked the shelf with trolling wire, with minimal luck by the way, although have caught a couple huge Blues. Looks like boats, mostly charters, are coming from other areas so I think we are clueless. It's a fairly long ride so I would like to make it worth the trip/fuel. I have heard it is "the spot" but I have had far better luck at Wasque, having had a banner year drifting eels at dusk for large bass.

Any HELP would be appreciated.
