I have been experimenting with some small glass tube rattles that have two bb's in them. They make quite a
racket and should enhance the odds of a strike. The rattles are pretty long and pose some challenges when
trying to incorporate them into standard patterns, thus I have created some hybrid flies which look like
traditional patterns but they are tied differently. I have tied Clousers and half & halfs on long shanked hooks
but the eyes are still pretty far back due to the length of the rattle. Has anyone else been tying with them? I
would be interested in hearing how the rattle was used and how you re-engineered the pattern to work. I
think the big half & halfs with the rattles are going to be killer when fished deep with a short twitching
retrieve(king of like jigging{:-)
