I have used mylar tubing for attaching rattles. Tie a length of the tubing to the hook, insert rattle, tie down the other end. With a Clouser, I put this an the same side of the hook shank as the dumb bell eyes. It ends of looking kind of like one of those Rattle Rouser redfish flies that I saw in the Orvis catalog, only with the added dumb bell eyes.

How do they work? Don't know. I don't think I've gotten one wet yet.
