My friends and I are planning a trip to North Carolina for this coming October/November (I feel bad thinking about November now)--probably to Harker's. We're pretty young--the oldest being almost 19--therefore our budget is not too big. In fact, we're all broke most of the time, but hoping for generous relatives at graduation next month. Anyway, I've been told that there's some decent shore core fishing. I also heard something about a small ferry that brings people to some spot--wherever that may be. My question is, have any of you guys done NC from shore? For that matter, does anyone know anything about this ferry? Does it leave from Harker's, etc? Oh yeah, and supposedly there is a cheap hotel where most people stay on/near Harker's. What's the deal with all that stuff? We're not opposed to bringing one of our boats down; then again, no water could be more unframiliar to me. How hard is it (generally) to find these puppies--and, is a 17' enough boat for the waters?
