I owned a 14 foot sturdee for 8 years- used it mostly in the Westport Harbor and environs. Went as far East as Michaum point and wesy to Warren's point. Powered origiunally with a 9.9 then went with a 15 horsepower. great boat when seas relatively calm. any chop and speeed produces tooth jarring chop especially for the passenger forward (my buddy recalls that feature fondly). Great low maintenace and "sturdee" craft. Ownership was a breeze. I used a tiller extension, particular useful when alone. With the fifteen it would move quite well, but ah then there's that nasty chop. Not suitable for true coastal in my opinion.
