My friends and I went to N.C. last year in late November. It was my first time
however they go every year. We did very well on stripers in Oregon Inlet. I got
1 "puppy" about 15lbs. on the point. The trip was very inexpensive. It cost
me about $450 for 3 days including airfare from Logan. We rented a house and 2
Ford Explorers well we were there. Its off season at that time and they need
the money. We ate what we caught (pizza the first night). We ended up with
over 100 stripers over 20lbs. from the shore. The biggest tipped the scales
at 40 lbs. Most were released so they'll be waiting for you and your friends.
The best source of info for the area is www.reddrumtackle.com they have a b.b.s
very similar to this one. They post the conditions honestly. The owner of
the shop keeps the b.b.s very up to date. One of the people on the b.b.s
was very helpful a.k.a "RED DOG". He helped us out advising of the conditions
for several weeks prior to our trip. Also contact Nelson at REDTOP in Bourne,
He stays in N.C. several months a year. He just got back 2 weeks ago. He
is very helpful and has some good local ties to the area. Good luck. Let me
know if you need any other suggestions. RIPTIDE
