Tried for the first bass of the season in the bass river...Nada. Was at Red River Beach on Sat. afternoon watching birds and diving ducks work a large school of bait, could have sworn there were some nice splashes in the midst of it all. Checked the herring run at the canal on the way back. Saw only 3 herring in the run but it was just past low with no water in front. Dick
