Thanks for the Allens explanation Ron. I was wondering if the pond had moved as the backwater inside the spit did seem to be connected to the marsh; I didn't really get into the outflow of the pond; no need when fishing w/ spinning gear. The current seemed to be akin to a typical estuary outflow; that is, something to be cautious of.
Whats the crowds like at the pond on a July night; does the hike in keep them managable?
