We're coming as fast as we can, will you guys give us a break?!
You see, our wives couldn't decide what to wear, so we got a late start to begin with. And then there's all these kids, you know, they gotta' stop at a restroom every fifteen minutes.
And then my wife says, " We have to pick up my mother," so it's like, a hundred miles out of the way to go by Connecticut, and pick up the old bat. I swear, this woman must have been sucking down herring all winter, she's gotta' weigh sixty-pounds, easy.
So then, my mother in-law wants to see the spot where Jimmy Hoffa is buried, so it's another forty-miles over to the East River. Nothing left there but bones and concrete. It's really not worth going out of your way for anymore.
So now we're bustin' our butts to make up the lost time. Right now, we're almost up to Newport, and I think we may make it to the Canal by the weekend, but I'm not promising anything. If the water is warm enough, we may hang around Buzzard's Bay for the weekend, and head through the Canal some time next week.
We're so far behind the bait this year, I hardly know where to start looking. Can you guy's tell me where the herring and silversides are thickly concentrated? It'd really save us some time, and the kids are getting pretty hungry.
I'll be traveling all week, with limited time to check my e-mail, so if you could just post your answers here, I'll know where to start looking.
Thanks in advance.
