4/13 What Else Do I Need For Surf Fishing?

So, I got my new 9’ conventional surf stick, reel loaded with 280 yds. of 20lb Berkley Big Game, Trilene Cinch Knotted to an 80 lb. barrell swivel, then a few feet of 40 lb. shock tippett. I intend to use this rig for throwing plugs and eels. The rod is rated for 15-30 lb test, and lures from 1-4 oz.

I got a mess of mostly metal and rubber baits. Bucktail jigs from 1-2oz, some tin jigs and spoons with various colored tails, some crippled herring 2-5oz, 4 & 6 inch rubber shad, in white and white/black, with 1-2oz jig heads, some eel-colored 8” sluggos, 7 ½” mambo minnow, and a couple of Atom Poppers.

I know I still need some eel rigs, and some way to weight the Sluggos, and some wire leaders.

What else do I need, and what’s the best way to weight the sluggos and other rubber baits?

What am I forgetting? Does my rig sound okay?

Thanks,

Jay
