Eric: the smallest was 16" and weighed just over a pound, the largest was about just over 20 inches and 3.5 pounds. my last one was estimated at about 24 inches/ 5 pounds. Never landed that one but it was definately bright silver. Could not tell you if they were/are resident or migatory. Don't know how to tell. Plus I never targetted salmon on this river. I do recall, as john c mentions that years ago the state tried to establish a coho/cinook fishery here but dropped. I think it was a put and take operation anyway. Interesting side thought though. the Lamprey was awarded the "scenic and wild river" designation last year and the wiswall dam will soon be breached. I doubt that it will be dynamited, It looks like the old sluice channel (for lack of a better description) will be opened. I can see where all the old brush has been cleared out. This would create a very nice ladder and open up the river for about 20 miles instead of the 5 or so now. I'm going to try again weekend. Hopefully
something good will happen.
