I own a Penn Int'l 2.5 reel for my 9'9weight rod. I recently picked up a 9'6weight
rod for schoolie fishing, and some freshwater fishing. So, i needed to pick up
a reel for the 6 weight. at the orvis store, the gent advised that i put the penn
on the 6 weight and look for a new reel w/ more backing capacity for my 9 weight.
He thinks the 2.5 is more of a true 6 weight reel than a 9 weight. I have been
flyin' for 3 years now, and like to listen to others rather than pretend i have
all the answers. anyone out there have any thoughts on this matter?
p.s. i was looking at reels for the 9 weight and really was impressed with the Bauer
M3. Anyone have any pro's or con's?
Thank you!
