No first hand knowledge. The word on Calcuttas vs. Penn 965 that I've heard is that the Calcutta is smoother out of the box than the Penn.
As it gets used the Penn gets smoother and stays that way. THe Calcutta seems to wear much faster.
GO to Mike Thomas' at M&D Tackle in Wareham he has the Penn 965 for about $160. Quite a bit cheaper than the Calcutta.
