Before anyone grabs their rods, I would like to put a disclaimer on this post that is familiar to this group...your mileage will vary.
around 20 fish, 2-4 smalls, 5 keepers, 1 37", 1 36" the other three around 30". Many fish in the 22-27" range. No gut hooks, one through the eye, all keepers were returned quickly (the 37" involved me jumping in the canal with it for 5-10 minutes to revive it away from the weeds) without any blood. Many other guys we spoke to were skunked. Spoke to the lobster pot guy that could not comprehend my returning the fish to the water. oh well.
Thanks Bill D for your post this morning. The fish are in if you are willing to put in 6-10 hours to get them as we did today and tonight. Not a single bluefish spotted, nor much other bait but these fish were fat so they were eating something? Juvi herring?
So, 2 people, 20 fish, 8 hours, 18 pogies, 1 wicked fall and a sore back. I got the two in the mid 30's my buddy got the other 3 keepers.
A good night but averaged out over 8 hours, in which 2-4 hours was dead and not many people would put in that kind of time.
