I have owned to Scout 162 and now own a Scout 185 and use it in my charter business for fly fishing.
I am in love with my boat, and would recommend the 185 if you fish waters like I do.
The 162 was good as well and was the perfect all around tool for back waters, but I needed more hull for heavier seas.
Fit and finish on all Scout Boats is fantastic. You have to remember though, that this is a foam core boat
and is lighter than laid glass boats of the same size.In heavier seas, it can be a harder ride, but floats like a cork!
