8-8 Canal:Morning:Nothing

I couldn't resist the good plugging tide so I went to bed early
dreaming of some good plugging in the canal.
Fished the east end Cape Side from 4;30 to 8am. The only action I saw was a small
bass attempt to swollow my polaris. I did not see any breaking fish.
I did not have any other hits. I tried surface, jigs, tins, plastic, and
a few different spots. Nothing!
I did not see anyone else catch a fish.Everyone I talked to said it was slow.
I sounds like I should have gone last night after I read Scotts report.
But I agree totally with Scott. The canal is a funny place. You can fish
for 4 hours with nothing and then catch 4 keepers in the next couple of hours.
My last 4 outings have been the 4 hours when the fish were off. I guess if
I put in 8 hours (I've done it before) I'll eventually fish the on period.
I'd rather get there when the fish turn on and leave when they turn off.
Don't ya just wish you could figure out when that's going to happen.
This fishing stuff is better than the best strategic video game. It's
also real life.
Had a bad outing but I'll be back.
