We've been experiencing much the same. The fish seem to be in the old mid-august patterns we used to see 25 years ago. The water is very warm, and the bass become almost totally nocturnal. They feed great in the dark,but at the slightest hint of dawn, they shut right off.Darkness and the cold water stages of the tides are the only things that seem to trigger their feeding.
