8-9 Wxtide 32 Accuracy

I've been using the program wxtide 32 for tide information.
I'm wondering if you have to correct for eastern daylight savings
time. The past few times I tried to schedule my trip to the canal
my arrival seamed late. For example the program told me that the
low tide for the east entrance was at 5:59 am on 8-8-98. When I got
there about 4:45 am the tide was low but the water was already moving
east. I'm estimating that the tide was already turned for at least an hour.
If I subtrace an hour from the xtide info it still doesn't seem accurate
but may be more accurate than published times.
The only other thing I can think of is that the tide in the canal turns
before the tide is actually low or high. If this is the case the published
times may be very accurate.

Anyone have ideas? I like the program. It gives tides for many locations. I'm
just wondering if I'm using it correctly.
