I also fished the area from the party boats out to the tip of the sandbar this
morning. Got there around 5 and fished until about 8:30. Didn't seem like the
terns were working over the sand eels as much as they have been in the past, and
like the other report said, they weren't as abundant as they have been.
I fished the rips on the back side of the bar with a sinking line, tried using
a variety of sand eel flies, clousers, deceivers, etc.. but the only thing I
could entice into biting was three flounder and a small schoolie back on the
river side.
