Larry in the marsh they fish them on a big bobber, and drift them with the tide. Off shore we have a lot of different schools of bass along the lobster pots, (natural chum slick) most of the pots are full of crabs, If you are in deeper water fish them deeeper, i would drift with them . To hook them on I have heard of using rubber bands, or there is an elastic thread used to hold hook also, or just put the hook through the shell. Bet you will get some action. Also if u ever have dug steamers, there are those giant tape worms, try those if u want action.
