Clouser Hit 10/9/98

Fished Boston Harbor two weeks ago before I went out to fish Montana.
Clouser hit rod and on the next cast tip section broke in half!!
Thank God its a Sage. The will replace tip section at no cost. Any suggestions as to tyingClousers without the barbells which
might reduce the chances of this happening again?
