Ah Jay...I think your 8" long yellow monster is fine. Your fly you lent me is almost as big as some of the bass we pulled off of that outflow dock.
That fly was an interesting experience to toss.
We should however note my grundgy; ugly, all the colors ran together, 5" long deceiver raised at least as many fish as the yellow monster :-).
Im intrigued as much as what the heck you do when you finally hook into a 30 pound plus bass 10' directly below your feet. Your fight will be interesting to say the least. Kind of like raising a group out of a wreck!
