Yuk!
Got up at 2:30 this morning to sling some eels at one of the south shore hotspots.
Fished fro 3:30 to 8:00, three rods, three different spots, not a single bump.
Spot number one, surf so high, a rogue wave broke over my head when I was standing in ankle deep water. Impossible to get the bait out past the breakers.
Spot number two: I think I set a new IGFA 20lb,test record for weeds, like 40lbs. on one retreive. Glad we only stumbled in the rain for like twenty minutes to get to that place.
Spot number three: Finished up at Hull Gut before sunrise. I've never heard of thrre guys throwing eels at the gut through sunrise, for not even a bump.
I think if you can get your bait out past the surf, keep it out of the weeds, and not drown yourself, the water is too dirty for the bass to find it, even if they are there, which of course, they're not.
If anyone can find any clean water this weekend, I'd appreciate hearing about it, otherwise, my grandiose, " Bass Weekend," plans may come to an early demise.
To steal a quote," At least nobody died!"
